Holiday Club — Creative Adventures at ART squared

Holiday Club is a perfect opportunity for unaccompanied children aged approximately 8 and over (please check individual workshop descriptions as some sessions may have specific considerations). In small group settings of 6–8 children, my bright, friendly, and well-stocked studio in Castletown provides a supportive, fun environment where creativity can really flourish! The club runs from 10:00 am to 3:30 pm, and children should bring a packed lunch and drink for the midday break. Fresh fruit and squash are available in the studio throughout the day; you’re also welcome to bring additional snacks. Old clothes are essential — we’ll be diving deep into projects, and while aprons are provided, we will get messy!

Owl & Moon Mixed Media - Monday 3rd August

Layer acrylic paint, collage and silver leaf to create striking and woodland owl artwork beneath a striking silver moonlit sky.

Wand Workshop Wonders - Tuesday 4th August

Sculpt and decorate magical wands using wire, modroc, paint, ribbons and embellishments. Every wand is unique and packed with personality.

Magical Bookcase Canvases - Wednesday 5th August

Create a quirky bookshelf canvas filled with book spines, potions, curiosities and surprises. We’ll use acrylic paints and metallic accents to create a piece filled with magic & intrigue

Fantastic Fairy Doors - Monday 10th August

Design and build an enchanting fairy (or other woodland creature!) door from clay and mixed media, complete with tiny woodland details. Once our designs are created, we’ll cast them in plaster, and paint them, for a beautiful &  unique keep-sake.

Secret Garden Shadow Boxes- Tuesday 11th August

We’ll paint layer upon layer of beautiful plants, trees, birds & creatures in watercolour, and assemble them to create a beautiful shadow box diorama, leading us along the garden path!

Mushroom Munchkin Houses - Wednesday 12th August

Studio favorite modroc is back! Today we’ll create junk model mushroom houses, and cover them in modroc to create imaginative little homes for secret creatures, With quality embellishments,our mushroom houses will look fresh from the forest!

Abstract Canvas Painting - Monday 17th August

A gloriously messy painting session for children who love colour, creativity and experimenting! We will create their own large abstract canvas using mixed media techniques. We’ll splatter, scrape, layer and mark-make our way to bold and expressive masterpieces.

Adventurous Journey Journal - Tuesday 18th August

Create a vintage style journal celebrating an imaginary journey. We’ll draw paint and embellish, creating tickets, maps, and mementos. The result is a seemingly authentic artifact that could have been found in an adventurer's pocket!


Tiny Tower Dioramas - Wednesday 19th August

Build a 3D miniature diorama of a fantasy tower hidden amongst moss, trees and winding pathways. Using recycled materials, foam clay and mixed media techniques, we'll create magical landscapes fit for wizards & dragons.

Peculiar Circus Characters- Monday 24th August

Step right up! We'll invent wonderfully quirky circus performers and paint them onto canvas, complete with extraordinary costumes, curious pets and fantastical props. A brilliant workshop for children who love character design.

The Explorer's Trunk -Tuesday 25th August

Design a miniature travel trunk belonging to a famous adventurer. Inside we'll create tiny keepsakes, maps, sketches, tickets, & treasures collected from imaginary travels around the world!

The Magical Cat Society - Wednesday 26th August

Create a Victorian style portrait of an extraordinary cat with a fascinating secret life. Perhaps they're a potion maker, librarian, explorer or inventor? A fabulous mixed media character workshop.
